Wines of the Shoalhaven Coast
Wine growing in the Shoalhaven Coastal region has flourished over the past 15 years. There are 15 vineyards throughout the region all producing a wide variety of quality wines. The Shoalhaven Coast wine trail stretches over 100kms, winding through luscious green valleys and overlooking some of the country’s most pristine beaches.
The area has excellent climatic conditions for producing a wide range of varieties – Chardonnay, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Chambourcin has been nominated “wine of the region”. The region’s commitment to quality and producing premium wines has been recognised with numerous awards from around the country.
